Bernardo Shores San Diego

After muddling through a couple hours  worth of detours from Palm Springs (thank you to Sheila our GPS for assistance) we made it to San Diego. The RV spots here are huge...see pic above...and they have a putting green,driving range (into a net) and we are near a bike path that runs over to Coronado Island. The RV park is very clean. Our spot is on the end with no one in front of us to obstruct the view of the bay.We can see downtown San Diego in the distance and the planes coming in to land. We already found a Von's (Safeway for you Seattlites) and Jack has gone across the street for Sushi. Lots of things to explore here during our 9 days and Jacks brother Gary is flying down in a few days to visit.

Leaving in the Morning

After a really windy night we are cleaning off the patio and putting the furniture in the garage. Still loading stuff into the 5th wheel....Next stop San Diego!

We're Baaaaack!

Jack has the 5th wheel out front and we're loading it up today and tomorrow. That should piss off some of the old bats around here.  SLOW DOWN!

Lists

8:45AM and it's 80 degrees already

Jack and I have been working off our lists of things to do before we leave Friday. I glanced at one of his shopping lists and it said "Siamese Hose". I got all excited thinking he was going to surprise me with an exotic breed of kitty but turns out it is some kind of attachment for a hose! :(

We cleaned out the refrigerator and cupboards. Jack has gone for a haircut and I'll go pick up our last security paychecks. I dusted all the furniture in preparation for covering everything up with sheets. Hopefully it will cool down before we start loading up the 5th wheel on Wednesday.

Down to the Wire

Jack cleaned out the garage,hosed it down and sprayed Bug Death in the nooks and crannies. We went grocery shopping yesterday.I've gone through my closet and picked out which 4 t- shirts I'll wear all summer. The potted plants on the patio have been tucked into the garden where they will get water all Summer and we are bringing the 5th wheel over on Wednesday to pack it up.

Madison asked me "Grandma why do you take so many pictures of your garden?" I told her I like to see how much everything has grown over the Summer.

This time next week we'll be enjoying the ocean breezes in San Diego.

Partial Itinerary

When we leave San Diego on May 9 we will head north and spend one night in Coalinga CA...then on to Corning CA, a bit further north for one more night.. next  on to Canyonville Oregon, where 7 Feathers Casino and RV  park is located.  http://www.sevenfeathersrvresort.com/  On May 12 we should reach the Neskowin Oregon RV Park on the Oregon Coast where our favorite bunny Slit Ear lives (hopefully he is now a big bunny and still panhandling at the campsites). Next we'll spend  3 nights in Seaside Or...then into Washington and the Elma RV Park for two nights. We plan on arriving in Renton WA at Gary's (Jack's brother) on May 20.

June 1-15 we will be in Eastern WA at Crescent Bar on the Columbia River

July 4-5 at the Swinomish Casino RV Park near Anacortes WA

July 6 one night in Fall City WA so we can swing down into Tacoma and pick Madison up for our trip to Fort Flagler from July 7-16.

There are still some holes to fill in after that. It is possible we'll meet up with Jack's nephew Justin on the Cowlitz River for some fishing...maybe head into Montana to visit Glacier Nationa Park...lots of possibilities and we're looking forward to getting back on the road.

Jack is cleaning out cupboards today and we're taking an inventory of stuff we want to take vs. leave here.

Gettin' Gone

Now that we're back from Las Vegas our focus will be checking things off our lists (we have three lists going so far) and stockpiling stuff on the guest bed to load into the 5th wheel for our summer trip.

We woke up today to cool temps...60's,and the forecast calls for cooler weather and possible showers with wind today and tomorrow.  A big storm coming down from the Pacific Northwest...(Seattle... the weathermen down here blame all the bad weather on you) Last night was VERY windy but still in the 90's.

My plan of action today is to clear stuff off the patio.
 I've already got a box of liquids(soap,lotion etc) ready to pop into the refrigerator when we leave.
